About Us

Ashfield Catholic Club Cricket Club was formed in 1974 and the first senior team played in the Western Suburbs Cricket Association in the 1974/75 season. In 1994, the name was changed to Ashfield Croydon Centenary (ACC) Cricket Club.

The first junior team played in the Western Suburbs Cricket Association in the 1982/83 season.

From one senior team in 1974, the Club has progressed to over six junior teams from 8-year-olds upwards playing in the Canterbury/Western Suburbs Cricket Association and up to half a dozen Senior teams, most now play in the combined Churches NSW & Inner West Harbour Cricket Association and the rest in the combined Bankstown District and Canterbury & Western Suburbs Cricket Association.

Our Club is also very proud to have a girls team.

Kanga/have-a-go cricket was introduced for the young cricketers in the 1993/94 season and many of those players have now progressed through our Junior ranks and are still playing Seniors.

Over the years, our Club has had many of its junior players represent the local Canterbury/Western Suburbs Cricket Association in the Shell Shield series, being selected in the Sydney Metropolitan, A.W.Green, Frank Gray and Poidevin-Gray Shield squads, as well as progressing to Shires and District Grade clubs.

The Club has supported many changes to grow cricket in the Inner West including the most recent stage-based formats for Juniors launched by Cricket Australia in 2017.

ACC Cricket Club developed a 5 year Strategic Plan in 2017 with a vision:

  • To be the cricket club of choice for Ashfield, Burwood and Croydon community

  • To be a respected Senior and Junior Cricket Club with a top 2 ranking for player participation within the Canterbury Western Suburbs Cricket Association

More information about our Strategic Plan can be found on our website.

Our Club has won many competitions in both junior and senior competitions.

ACC Cricket Club is run by members/volunteers and can always do with and welcomes more support.
